" ...whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." 27 Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire." Every human being has the potential to develop their personal power. This is accomplished by building a strong and steady inner foundation of core values and principles based on truth. Every person has a purpose to fulfill and this inner foundation is formed to be the support for this purpose of whom God is the architect. This stable foundation of strong values combined with personal, heart felt purpose will unite the personal energies that otherwise fly about latching onto anything that makes a person feel secure.
The stands we make on issues, both personal and interpersonal, will be weak until we have the strong underlying structure that makes them powerful. When we truly surrender our lives to God and desire to fulfill his purpose for us, he creates this power structure in us. He connects us with the real person we are inside who is capable in every way to carry out his plan. We are important to God, our purpose is important and the person we are is important in Eternity. When you know your purpose and begin to feel the strength of that foundation of truth in your life, you will become confident in who you are and what you can do, even in what you must do. You will not apologize or aquiese to others if they ridicule what you are doing. Accepting the true calling of your life often separates you from people whose negative energy pulls you down. As we grow into our personal power, we will be challanged to move into areas where we will have to face our faults which are established emotional patterns that cause us trouble. How we confront these issues and learn to transform them into positive energy propelling us into new thinking processes and action responses is what will guarantee our success. One undealt with weak point can destroy the whole ship. Remember the Titanic and how it was ego and carelessness in the captain that caused the disaster. The best way to assure success is to remedy the weakness before you are attacked in that area. Strengthen yourself before the seige. This takes the courage to lay aside ego and pride and admit the weakness being revealed to you. If you can't do this, then you are at a disadvantage when the enemy strikes because you aren't aware of your weakness but your enemy knows what it is and is taking advantage of it. Political figures should observe political satire and cartoons to see how the public views their weaknesses. Yeah, it is hard on the ego but that's usually where the problem begins anyway. The ego is our arch enemy and our real enemies know how to push the ego buttons in us and thus manipulate us and make fools of us at times. So watch for evidences of your weaknesses in how people tease you or make even light jokes at your expense. We generally have a blind eye to our own faults. Even the mean things our enemies say about us can have grains of truth hidden in the lies if we are brave enough to search for them. Our ememies will try to take us down on our strongest stand. if we give in, in that area, the rest tumbles down easily. That behooves us to search and search again for stress points that might let them in even in the smallest way. Preparation before the battle is the key to victory. The hard work is worth it and when our foundation is firmly established on truth, even painful truth to our own errors and weakness, we will feel the power in our confidence grow and everyone in our sphere of influence will feel it also. One way to ensure unbelievable success is this, when you have to confront, make an honest and unyielding stand before your most feared and strongest appearing enemy, the one that actually makes you quake in your boots. If you can stand before them, look them directly in their eyes and state your belief clearly and without apology or excuse, in unwavering confidence, you will win them over even if they don't agree with you. You will make them want to agree with you. They may become your strongest ally. The only way a strong and powerful person respects you is when you prove yourself as strong and powerful as they are. If they insult you or downgrade you, they are not the strong and powerful person you thought them to be and they are not worthy of your fearing them. A leader is a lonely person because there are not many in that category. There are millions and millions of us common folk but only a few powerful leaders. Leaders are usually suspicious of other's motivations and intent because they are used to being courted, fawned over and flattered for their favors. It may boost their ego at first but after awhile it gets very stale. Especially if they are wrong or unfair and know it, they have a disgust and disdain for people who cave in and won't confront them about it. They will spot a weakness or fear in someone's stand quite quickly; they are used to weak people trying to appear strong, ignorant people trying to appear wise and mediocre people trying to appear important. Any statement or stand you make should be carefully thought out, researched and supported with many relevant facts. Once your stand becomes public, never back down on it unless you have more evidence of it's error than you have of it's vaildity. Then admit your mistake, correct it and move on quietly without excuse, because if you judge yourself then other's won't have to. However, if you do your homework thoroughly, you shouldn't have to worry about making mistakes very often. If you get fearful later, after making a stand and lighten it up or change it's firmness according to public opinion, you will appear wishy washy and people will be less likely to trust you. The main thing here, is to know so thoroughly that the stand is true that you know in your heart you have to make it. Nothing can come against what you know in your heart to be true. People want to trust. They want to believe in someone and they want to feel secure in that belief. It is inherent in us, from the lowest little homeless man living in a cardboard box to the greatest prime minister or president living in a mansion. A truly visionary person will aknowledge this need in the poor and the rich. Also, every human being desires to be respected and honored as an individual. We all need to feel that someone else thinks we are important. Our thirst for this is so compelling that if it is honestly and freely offered, it is impossible to resist. Sadly, people need it so much, they often believe lies and are manipulated by devious individuals or groups that use them for their own purposes and agendas. This is how leaders lose the trust of the people they are supposed to be serving. Once trust is lost, it is very hard to get back. We are responsible for the results of our endeavors. We are held accountable in Eternity for our motivations. If we have a position of authority, we are responsible for the well being of those under us. Judgment comes upon every individual, every institution, and every nation. All that can be shaken will be shaken and only that which is built on a strong foundation of truth will stand. |
